The X has been down for a year now thanks to this:



I pulled the engine out of my dually and will be sticking it in the X with a new turbo. Here's pics of the T4 mount kit and new S366:





Here's the engine coming out of the dually the other day: (I did a little write-up on this extraction in the 99-03 forum)



This engine was built for 600HP, but I'm content with ~400HP in the 6spd dually. The plan is to throw some new pistons in the old X engine (it does have forged rods ) and put it back in the dually - as soon as I can afford it. The X will get some big injectors and a big turbo someday and push the 600HP mark!

The engine and the engine bay in the X have been degreased and are ready for some fresh paint. In the next couple of days, we're gonna yank the injectors out for inspection and mock up the new turbo - then it'll be ready to drop in the X. I'm also hoping to install the B-codes and rear sway bar that have been sitting here for like 2yrs now... Also NEED to drop the tank and do the in-tank mods, 'cause I had some indications this was a problem before it broke...

I am sooooo looking forward to driving my Excursion again! We are going to central Fla after Christmas and it will be VERY nice to travel with 2 boys and a dog in our beloved X!!!

 

Speaking of the FL trip - any of y'all wanna do a mini-GTG again this year? I know the few of us that met in Lake City on our way down last year had a good time!

Where in Florida and when? A meet sounds good.

 

We're going to Sebring, then maybe Titusville (actually Mims) on the way home. We'll be trucking down I-75, then the turnpike for a second and US-27 to Sebring on 12/26. If we make it to Mims, it'll be I-95 to I-10 and back over to I-75 on 1/2. We should hit the FL state line a little after lunch - figure Lake City before 3. At some point, the boys are going to Lego Land with friends. As much as I love Lego's, I'm not gonna spend what they want for admission to go myself... But I'll drive the X-bus and drop them off if y'all wanted to meet near there! (Winter Haven, Lakeland, Haines City) If any of that puts us close enough to hook up with you, I'll start a GTG thread and we'll go from there!
