It is sunny & it is 50 degrees out right now.

As for myself... I'm doing ok & I'm making out a mental list (for now) of tools and equipment to buy for Rustoleum. I've made a decision on what engine I might drop in Rustoleum should I come across a slightly newer F Series for parts.

And, what engine did you decide on? Nice here too, today, and we're supposed to finally get some rain tonight. We need it, bad.

For my engine choice I'll either stick with the 400 or get a 460. I also decided to stick with the carb & not go with EFI. I want to run biofuels (E85) with Rustoleum. It is easier to do that with a carb than finding a way to program the computer to try to run E85 or higher.

I don't think it will rain this weekend like it did last weekend.

Yeah, probably a good idea, with the carb. 460 is a hog, but will pull like a madman.

I'm well aware of what 460's get for mpgs. I did a lot of research into what engine to keep or drop in Rustoleum. Now I need to think about what tranny to drop in (while thinking about me still driving Rustoleum 25 to 75 years from now). My choices are (rather I still have the 400 or not)... E4OD (with an aftermarket controller), ZF5, NP435, T18, & T19 (I'm thinking about a hand clutch or something similar with the last four).

I'm a manual man, myself. I got a ZF-5 for my 67. How come you want a hand clutch?

I can drive a stick but I ain't that good at it. The reason I'm thinking about a hand operated clutch is for when I'm an old man (in roughly 25 to 30 years [50 to 55 years old]) . What if I have problems with my left knee or leg & have a hard time pushing in the clutch pedal. I still need a clutch to stop and start. I just can't refuse to not use it. That is also why I'm considering an E4OD even though it is a computer controlled tranny. I certainly ain't keeping the C6. Fuel is too valuable.

Yeah, I know Gerry. But, an AOD can't be put behind a 400 (That Rustoleum came with stock) or 460 (Which I might be thinking about) without an adapter & its internals being upgraded from stock to handle the power and torque.

There lies another problem. I don't think that Tremec makes a 4x4 tranny that would bolt in without a(n) adapter(s). Hence the reason why I'm sticking with what Henry put in these trucks between 1967-1997. Parts should be somewhat easy to find (for now).
