750vac or 650mec carb
In the market for a new carb and can't decide on which one. Truck will eventually have a set of procomp heads and a small cam. Don't plan on getting into the bottom end. Which carb would be a better choice. It will be a Holley. Don't plan to spin the motor past 5500rpm. I was originally thinking to go with the 750vac but my buddy thinks the 650mec is a better choice.
Thanks in advance

The 750 vac sec is the best choice.Double pumper carbs work best in lighter vehicles with standard trans.I run a 3310 750 vac sec in a 460 with ported heads ~10.3-1 comp. 575" cam,headers,C6,etc...and it works great.Tried a 750(4779)double pumper and couldn't get it to perform as well as the 3310.460 is in a '88 reg. cab 4x4 long bed F250.A double pumper also uses way more fuel than a comparable sized vac. sec. carb.
