WARNING! (while my mind is on it, from another thread)

I will never for the rest of my days forget an outfit in the Norfolk VA, Newport News area that regularly advertises engines in the local papers that:

"RUNS, CAN DEMONSTRATE"

When I went there for what turned out to be a "CORE MOTOR", they not only could not "demonstrate" it, they jacked up the price, and wanted to argue about it.

They claimed that what they sold me (laying in the dirt and mud in the corner of the shop) was:
"Owned by a preacher man, that they had been helping out for years"

Sound too damned familiar to take serious?

I got a 302 from them that was pure unvarnished horse manure....
The crud under the valve covers and intake man was so thick - I coulda scooped it out with a coal shovel...

If you are in "NOFFUK", and you see an ad like that -
DON'T GO THERE!

It's a ripoff - I guarantee ya!

They don't know what they doin'

The place is owned by an ol' fat man that seem like he like too many grits!

If I recall- you go across the bridge tunnel from Whilloughby Spit to Newport News, and it is down and off to the side just as you get on land agin

Are those ads still in the classifieds out there?

I used that pile of junk as the trade in for a crate engine, it was the only thing it was good for

Now imagine how much broken junk is sold because of Craigslist! We do still have ads like the trading post so your boy might still be laughing at you while drinking shine and eating grits for buying a bad block !

To be fair - that block was probably sold later by the outfit I traded it in to as a "Premium" rebuilt engine. The crate engine I got from them had helicoils all over it - because I didn't shell out an extra hundred clams for the "PREMIUM" engine they wanted to sell me...

Do the letters "A Z" ring any bells?
(not to name names)
