That looks to be the same exact style as the KY plates of the same year. I wonder if they had a prisoner exchange program going?

Wis. truck plates

Maroon '51 truck plate ,orange '52 wis. truck plate .The mate to the '52 is on the front of the 1ST-RIDE .Looked hard for 5 yrs. to find a '52 Wis. truck plate .Found at the Turkey Rod run swap meet yrs. ago & didn't have to pay a penny for them . Traded 7 vanity plates for the pair .After 7 hrs. or resto the '52 plate was on the 1ST-RIDE .Installed in a one of billet alum. license plate frame made on the mill . Reason ? The older plates are 6 1/2 " x 13 3/4 " not 6 x 12 .The frame was the very 1st thing I ever made on the mill .

Need a '52 yr. tab for the '51 plate so I can put it on the stock '52 under const.

The reason for this was a change in vehicle registration fees that brought litigation from commercial interests. The state eventually prevailed at the state Supreme Court. The yellow/black plates were issued after that victory to show that the increased fee had been paid.

Illinois today allows YOM plates if accompanied by current collector plates. I guess like most states, vanity plates are also available for collector vehicles. Stu

Hi Stu, I have sorta looked around, but not seriously yet.
Do you know what the 1949 plates were? steel or that fiber? i haven't seen any yet.

from my research i dont think these ones are particularly old, but still cool. Pioneer plates in MN are designated for vehicles manufactured before 1936. they were on my grandpas 31 model A when he bought it

as far as i can tell, you can still get plates in this style, so thats kinda a bummer on wanting to sell them lol

Here's a picture of my 1948 & 1952 Pennsylvania plates

The fuzzy picture is the best of 3 from my new unphone

PA passed a law early this year allowing the use of YOM plates - Nobody and I meen nobody can figure out the meaning of the bill - I've talked to every agency, political reprehensible and a seagull and I get the same answer - we've asked for calarification

Here are some pics of vintage PA license plates I have on my garage wall:
two '54 truck plates:

a 1955 plate; below it you see what our current plates look like.

a 1956 plate; notice that from '56 and on the plates were enlarged.

a 1957 plate; notice that the color of the plates alternated from blue on yellow to yellow on blue each year.

This is an old plate that was on the truck when I bought it from Grandpa in 1977; notice the original F-100 hood emblem on the wall.

This is the last plate that Grandpa had in 1977

This is the plate I had on after I got the truck painted in 1999. I then got the vanity plates I have on it now: 54 F100

I liked it when PA used the outline of the state on the plates and a Keystone as a hyphen, as a school kid I thought it was cool....

I'm running YOM plates on my '49. Here it's $10 a year for special plates. only have to display one plate on a vehicle in AZ... The "A" means Maricopa County. Just had to make sure no one else had the plate numbers currently in use when I bought mine as I wanted to do the YOM.
