Your speedometer cable if 91s had them which I belive they do may be broken. Did you try giving it more gas when it lost power if so what happened?

He said he didn't. Shortly after we turned around and by the time we made it to 3rd gear going back we had to slow down for my drive way. Also, where does the speedo cable leave the firewall and meet the tranny?

I belive the speedo cable goes to the transfer case not transmission since yours is 4x4.

Ok what's it look like? Just like a throttle cable? Or is it an actuall wire?

Basically like a throttle cable.. goes into the back of your speedo.. and it runs.. if I remember correctly.. goes thru the firewall above the brake pedal and down thru the frame..
That's where mine went on my 91

yep 1tonbronco is correct. when you remove it from the transfercase it has a gear on the end.

I got a new-to-me set of blacked out tail lights thanks to FordYoungGun35! I put them in last night, I ll get picks up later.

Where is the fuel selector on these things? I couldnt seem to find it when I was under it the other day. Can anyone point me to it?

I think he means the actual mechanicism. If he is talking about the switch my 88 and both our 89s have it right next to the wipers switch.
