I've been looking around on here and still have not found an answer. I'm just looking for someone that has actually put the comp 31-255-5 cam in their truck and can give me more than the cam specs. has anyone used this cam? if so do you recommend it? any issues? I'm building this engine on a budget and don't want to get a cam that won't work for me. I've done my research about the SD engine and all that stuff. Just looking for a real life use of this cam. thank you.

 

I have this in my 5.0 and its great. I had to adjust the timing to really get it tuned in but after that, its great. Starts right up, good idle, and my engine now easily revs past 4 grand and it pulls alot harder than the tiny stock one. The lift with stock rockers is .464 intake .474 exhaust.

No problem, just make sure you install new lifters and timing chain with this cam, and for a little more punch put a set of 1.7 rocker arms on. I did and noticed even more pulling power. And it gets the lift closer to .500
