New member here (and new old Ford owner!)
Greetings, all.
I just signed up here. Great forum.
A few days ago I acquired my first old Ford, a 72 F100. After years of searching and walking away from a few, I found the perfect truck for me. (Or did it find me?) I am one happy guy
As soon as I figure out how to populate my account with pics I upload a few. Until then there are a few below.
Looking forward to learning from the forum members.

Yes, they sure did, beginning in 1973. There's no hood ornament for any truck listed in the 1964/72 Ford Truck Parts Catalog, none.
The repro parts sellers have them listed for 1961/72's. There are two types, one is actually a 1957 Ford car hood ornament (B7A-16850-A).
The other is actually a front fender ornament (C2DZ-16178-A) for a 1962/63 Falcon.
Both sorta fit the hood curvatures, why the repop sellers list them. But neither is original or correct.

Wow, I'm learning something already--excellent!
Thanks for the warm welcome. I suspected so much from classic Ford truck enthusiasts. (Everyone I've dealt with during this process has been great.)
Now on to learn about original bumpers. Looks like the only thing I need to replace on this old gem.
