Technical Questions on the Mini Maxx

Technical Questions on the Mini Maxx
1) I know dodge has a section in the install sheet about high idle....do we have any options with that? From my understand the way it works with the dodge is when you put it in park and set the e brake it will idle up to your preset RPM (700-1400~)...
2) My other question is how long will the mini max hold the tune if you take it out. I know it will reset to stock after a while but how long is "a while"
3)If I install the mini max and just leave the dpf present setting on, basically just mount it in the truck to have it to look at will that log into my pcm and void possible warranty claims if i go to take it to the ford dealership? I was hoping not since i will still log regens
4) One last question...when they talk about head unit in the instructions do they mean your radio head unit or your mini maxx head unit.
sorry for all the questions im just getting ancy here. Have this thing sitting on the shelf at home for 2 months now. only have 10k on the truck but thinking about installing it soon....

Hey Phillip, I don't have the answer for you but here is a recent write up from Savage that is very good and maybe will answer some of your questions.

No high idle through mini maxx for Ford trucks.
Mini maxx defaults to 'no power' setting when unit is not plug in. It's an instant change as soon as unit is unplugged.
Once the mini maxx is installed ( dpf on or off) the same info will be stored on the trucks computer which gives Ford everything they need to deny warranty claims on anything effected by the tuner. Basically, download the tune and give up warranty. Not saying you can't sneak something by the service dept if the tech wasn't looking for the tuner.
No clue on the 'head unit' question. I didn't read/use the directions for installation. It was pretty straightforward how to install it so I never read the book.

ok so thats what i thought......
once i unplug the unit it will go to no power...does it still save the dpf delete stuff? in other words if i needed to let someone use my truck i could just yank the mini maxx out and it would just go to no power dpf not present setting?
thanks for your help man i really appreciate it

High idle mod. is easy once you locate the wires under the far left side of the dash.
This thread describes the mod. Good Luck.
