fuel pressure valve

fuel pressure valve

had the check engine light come on on my wife's 97 expy friday. she called the dealer saturday and took it in to find the problem, seems the fule pressure valve? think that is what she said is the cause. this is in the fule tank, about $30 for the part, $300 to install it, never could figure out why car manuf. put fuel pumps and these valves in the tank, mayb i answered my own question $$$$$. anyway anyone else had this problem and is this about the cost for labor.

Well, at $75/hr that's four hours work. Sounds high to me because an experienced mechanic with proper tools can do a lot of work in a half day. You might try calling a reputable neighborhood mechanic.

for anyone interested, had the fuel valvue replaced last week at our local Ford dealer, $175.00, didn't think that was too bad, didn't take them as long as they thought it would. solved problem
