Front end

Trying to figure out what front axle is and if I can get an electronic locker for it. I have a 99 f250 4x4 diesel 4 door long bed solid front axle

It should be a Dana 60 - what is the tag number code on the differential housing cover? Should be a metal tag.

Actually since its a 99 F250, it should be a Dana 50. Dana 60 was on later trucks and F350s

Yep you are right Duck Fan - OP correction Dana 50 - check the tag number to know for sure.

You have a 50, and it should be stamped with a 50 somewhere on top of the bell housing.

Using the charts Sammie provided a link to, I found that my 2001 Dana 50 is really from 2000. It is also not one of the D50's that is SUPPOSED to be on the Excursion for that 2000 lot of axles. It is, according to Dana, supposed to be on a F250/350 4x4 with ABS in the 2000 build year. Sooooo, Dana supplied the axles to Ford in blocks/lots (apparently), and Ford threw them on whatever they wanted (I'm thinking).
