I looked around on this forum and others alike, it seems that the SF 6 is commonly used in the 7.3 and 6.0, I believe the zf5 is made for a Gasser

Let me ask, why would you want to? I don't understand why you would want to lower your trucks hauling and trailer pulling rating by installing a manual transmission. The 5R110W is damn near bulletproof.

You rating goes down 1000 pounds by installing a manual transmission.

The 5R110W is a great Trans. Realistically, most people would not bother with the idea because of the cost and effort involved. IMO find a truck with a manual trans and purchase.

my last truck was a stinky old dodge with a five speed, my first car was also a 5 speed. I just miss the gear shifts, and the whole manual experience of driving. I only drive about 200 km a week, i pull my dads 15 foot boat for him in the summer and do scrap metal runs every other month. plus my truck is an f-350 with camper package badged as a f-250.
it's already over kill i figue i might as well enjoy driving it with a 6 speed or 5 speed instead.

I have the ZF-6 in my 2002 F350 5.4 4x4. It is how it was ordered by the dealer. I bought it two years ago with only 17K miles! Love the ZF-6! Your 5.4 will be a totally different animal if you do it!
