Mechanical Diode is a brand name for a type of one way clutch.
Thanks for answering that. I always wondered what a mechanical diode was. I know regular electrical diodes only allow one way flow, but couldn't figure how that negates to the transmission.
add in a bunch of other stuff I'd rather not have to deal with; hutch, harpoon, 50 cent mod, vc harness chafe, cps failure, od steering column wire, ect, this truck may come up for sale sooner than I expected.
I'm closeing in on 400K and I have never had a valve cover off mine or the tank down. I'll hutch/ harpoon if I have another reason to drop the tank and $.50 if there is a reason to pull a valve cover. I dont want to mess up a good relationship...I change the fluids and keep her full of fuel and she starts every time I turn the key.

It only allows torque to be transmitted in one direction.
