1953 Headliner Question!

My 1953 is a Custom Cab I think? Had headliner and "card board" on the door panels. Door locks on both doors. Stainless trim around top of cab. Any way. All is redone. Except. I need to put a headliner in her. Mid-Fifty F-100 has been my go to for the restore. Cannot decide to go with stock headliner or ABS headliner. If anyone has experience in this area any input would be appreciated. Would like to retain original look. Thanks. WS.

I bought a vinyl kit from MF . It has the metal rods that you stretch it with.I like it. Gives it a little custom look. Doesn't look to bad for my first try. A little tricky Getting all the wrinkles out.

Just and FYI: you won't be able to get an original style headliner for a Custom Cab. The custom cabs had the headliner with acoustic holes perforated headliner. The standard cabs had no perforated headliner. No one reproduces them as of now.

But since your truck is pretty stock I would go with the stock cardboard headliner...

I have the ABS headliner from Mid-Fifties. It's very pricey, hard to install(follow the directions), a tab broke off, but I really like the look and would not hesitate to do it all over again. I sprayed mine VERY liberally with headliner glue and then installed the "mouse-fur" headliner material that was popular in 80's and 90's vehicles.
