First time here, but not the last.....
Well this is my first post. First of many. I have been a old Chevy truck guy most of my life. I have owned many and still have a 39. I went to a farm auction with a friend to look at the 20+ restored tractors the farmer had for sell. Sitting way in the back was a 1958 F100. Nobody was looking at it. Once we got back to it I noticed it was all there. The frame had been redone and the body was super straight. To bad I didn't take any money or a trailer. My friend said he had a check and we were only 74 miles from home. So I bid on it and won. I had to out bid a 15 year old kid. We went home got the trailer and picked it up in the dark. When we got home it was late so I just rolled it in my shop and went to bed. The next day I got a good look at it. I fould all the trim parts in the cab wrapped in a blanket. I changed all the fluids and added a battery and she started up. So now for the questions. Where is the best place to find parts? Did this truck have dual gas tanks. One is behind the seat and there is a filler hose on the driver side rear of the bed. The one part that keeps me from driving it around the block is the hose from the clutch master to the slave cylinder. It has a three speed behind a straight 6. I would like to put an automatic in so the kids can drive it. Plans are drop 3 to 4 inches, flat black, wide white walls, red rims, pin stripping. Just plan old school Hot Rod looks. I have a 30 Ford Hot Rod with a built 400 small block for speed. This truck will be a driver for my kids. I'll post picture as soon as I figure out how.
