Help with new truck price please

Hey guys wondering if you can give me a little insight here. I have been looking at a new 2012 F150 XLT extended cab V8, chrome package, 4x2. The below price is what the dealer has quoted me wondering if there is any room to get a better deal seeing as this truck will be considered a year old here shortly.

MSRP: $34,265.00
Discounted Price: -$2.000.00
Rebates: -$5,000.00

Price: $27,265.00

I would be keeping my current vehicle and financing through ford for 30 days to qualify for the $1500.00 rebate and then refinancing through my bank to get a better interest rate 2.5%, as opposed to the 5.5% through Ford.

Would it be out of line to offer $25,000 for the truck? Any information/advice would be greatly appreciated. Could also wait until January 1st and buy a 2012 anyone had any experience doing that?

I financed through ford for 1.9% and still got the rebate. Demand a better interest rate and save the hassle of a refi.

Additionally, I'd go in with a lower offer and see if they bite. You're being offered factory incentives, the dealer has made no additional attempt to save you money by the sounds of it. There's more to play with if the dealer is motivated.
