Taller tires on my Bronco

I just purchased a super clean 1996 Bronco. It looks like it has the factory tires (P235/70R15) on it. They look too small for this bronco. If anyone has a good looking set of tires on their 15 inch rims please post a pic and the tire size you have. I do not have a lift kit, and will probably stay with the factory suspension for now. Just lookin for some better looking tires.

Thanks,

Joe in Waxahachie, TX

I think the next best tire for a stock 96 would be 32 or 33's. I have 35's on my 78 but i also have a body lift so i can't really give you the picture you were looking for. But there are others here who have pictures or you could use google.

There is also a 265 tire that was stock on some models. This is the 95 Zebra Edition with the 265/??R15, its equal to a 31x10.50r15.

Here is an 89 with stock suspension height and 33 inch tires. They look like 12.50 in width but i am not sure, i pulled it from the FSB forum after searching google. They mention that if you wheel it and flex it hard you will rub depending on the width and a bumper trim might be needed. Otherwise it would be fine for street use.

A top similar to what the Zebra has and what GS92 has. You cut out the side windows and a large portion of the top and replace it with a removable fabric. That way you can "take the top off" but still have the safety belts for rear seat passengers. It also saves the trouble of having to remove the top and store it while you drive in summer. You can just snap/zip the covers back on and go about your business in the rain. It is pretty cool and if i can find a spare 78 top for real cheap, maybe i would look into it as well.

Notice the top on my truck as pictured above....no sides or roof. I do have a leather cover that snaps over tho.

LMAO, I'd only do that if my fenders were rusted to hell.

But 31"s are a good choice. They will fit nicely with no lift. Any bigger you will start to get into rubbing issues

Yes, 31's are a good choice...

And just to inform the OP: Going much bigger than 31's will start to affect performance because of axle gear ratios. 33's with 3.55:1 axle ratio will rob you of passing and hill climbing power and will also cause the automatic transmission to "hunt" gears badly between 35-40 MPH.

That's a great looking bronco. Is that a factory color?
