90 BroncoII used for wheeling & crawling?
Hi I am thinking about buying a 90 B2 for a family wheeling rig. Had a Kawasaki Teryx last year was going to turn it into a 4 seater for family but was not practical. Sold Kawasaki & bought old street rod, just sold street rod. Thinking of trying wheeling again. Plans are a 3-4" lift remove top & put in cage to keep kids safe along with 5 point harnesses. Any suggestions & opinions would be grateful.

4.0, M5OD, D35 front and a 8.8 rear. If the B2 you are looking at was built after 11/89 and has the M code tranny, you are halfway there. You'll just need a 4.0 from an Explorer and with matching gears for the 8.8 and you'll be there. The swap is a plug and play pretty much. There is a lot of useful info in the ranger station tech library. Not that there isn't here.

Personally I agree with Country0001. I wouldn't do it to our own B2 only because it isn't our truck for pouring money into like that (it is our beater truck). I belive with the things that Country0001 said it would be great. Be very careful these B2's are roll over prone if you aren't very careful just for some advice. Me and my dad hit a turn at 35mph and had the right side come slightly off the ground. Definatly install the 5 point harness in there it will keep your kids safe. not much more I can say other then that that I know of.
