fuel pump eccentric

i will start by saying hi to every 1 and this would be my first post here but it looks like a great forum.

now my question: i am doin a motor swap on my 79 to a 429 from the 400, i just had the motor rebuilt and i do not recall what kept the fuel pump eccentric from turning? i know on my 400 block it had a metal tab to fit in the camshaft gear but on the 429 eccentric there is no tab. any ideas?? thanks

It just tightens down, no tab, no muss, no fuss. Some of these engines have a 2-piece eccentric, some don't, all are the same.

thanks qtrmiler, so i presume that when the timing is set at zero the eccentric will be to the crank gear?? meaning that the lowest part of the eccentric will be off center to the bottom of the motor?
