I'd love a copy of the file if you still have it. And any help you could offer would be great.
I have a 95 E-350 Club Wagon that just lost forward gear. Reverse still works and in a utopian society I'd drive it like that.
Seriously though finding one in good shape is next to impossible and rebuilding it would cost more than the vehicle. If it wasn't in such good shape I'd say screw it but all things being considered I'd rather keep it (work vehicle).
I've been told that it sounds like a mechanical failure in the forward planetary. I haven't ripped it apart yet but am considering it after searching and finding nothing of value worth my time installing.
I know my way around an engine, built many of those but have yet to disassemble a tranny. It doesn't look all that difficult but....
Many thanks to those of you that are helping spread the information. With enough involvement we can continue to improve these trans. My 97 7.3 tranny just started the chattery shifts, clutches at the least. I am going to take a stab at doing it myself. A copy of the zip file would be greatly appreciated. otc4fun@gmail.com Thank you for the time and effort.....Brad
Hello I think I am a little confused a need some help! Just started to rebuild my 97 e4od and just put the reverse clutch pack in, and it is a 6 plate pack with a wave plate. I am using alto red eagle and kolene steels. The problem is in the clearances, alto recommends .020/.025 and I thought I read on the Internet that other manufactures recommend .045 and my Atsg book say no stack-up clearances required. I am well over .050 and don't know where I should be? Please help?!!!!!!!
