All 1/2 ton trucks of this vintage have the same 8.8 rear axle but there are no factory lockers just the clutch type limited slip, look for an L between the 1st and 3rd digits on the axle tag(3L55) or the letter H in the axle code on the drivers door pillar (H5) for example.

If you are wanting a locker for cheap, look into the "lunchbox" lockers that are available for the 8.8.

Are you happy with the 3.08:1 gearing in your truck? I've never driven one with a 3.08.

im looking at rocky roads web site and they dont haave those part numbers is there any way to tell what i have i dont want to order the wrong one

correction i found those but im looking at getting the lockright lockers not the no slip. part # 1821 and 1822. both 8.8 31spline one is 3/4 inch shaft and the other is 7/8 inch shaft

You need the 1822 which is for a 8.8 31 spline 7/8 pinion shaft.

I have a used 1822 Lock Right I used for 6 months in my 88
4.9l 2wd with the Mazda 5 speed. I converted to 4 wd and the donor
truck had 3.55 gears with a Traction Lok rear so I used that since
the 2wd rear had 2.73 gears.

Private message me if interested. $250.00 shipped. Comes in
original box with owner and installation manual.
