Does this truck have a D60 front axle?

Hi guys,

I noticed a truck that owner is parting out. He seems to know nothing at all about the truck.

It says in the add that the truck is an 05 but was there 05s with the old front bumper? It also says that it's a diesel engine in it that won't start it is a 05 then it should be an 6 liter powerstroke in it correct?

but I remember reading that Ford ended the CRAPPY D50 2004 so could it be that this one has a D60 in it

Check the link, the truck is located in Stockholm Sweden

It is a 6.0. Also from what I have read on here I think the D60 was a permanent thing by 03.

In mid late '03 the D60 was common. So...if it is an '05...then it should have a D60.

Good luck...

That's not an 05. It has the older bumper, wheels, emblems, and 4x4 decal.

Oh yeah...looking at the front hub...it definitely is not an '05. It is using the old style hub.

I'd ask the owner to share the build date which is on the door VIN sticker...

Take a 1 1/8" or a 1 5/16" socket with when you look it over. Check the size of the pinion nut-D50's use the 1/8, D60's use the 5/16. Easiest way I have found for a quick ID of said axle.

That was exactly why I came to think about posting here, I noticed all the same things.

I have mailed the owner and tried to call him with no luck, let's hope he answers me soon.

Super Duties are that common that if you can find one it will cost a lot.
I would say a maximum amount of 350s would be maybe around 100 trucks and 250s some more.

I know for sure that we are talking under 1000 trucks in the hole country!
This is in Finland and in sweden there more but nothing compared to USA

Ford Motor Company did not necessarily use the same design/components in their "export" Super Duty trucks. The only way to determine what parts (engine, transmission, axles, suspension, etc) were installed on the truck is to go visually inspect the vehicle.

My "guess" is that truck has a 7.3L engine, 4R100 transmission, Dana 60 front axle, and leaf spring front suspension. In short, it is a US made 2003 F350 Super Duty.

I know for sure that these truck has all been imported from the states as used trucks these the only Ford truck you can buy as brand new here is the Ford Ranger. All Excursions and Explorer and F series are all impported as used trucks

For example, FMC currently sells the F250 as an F100 from its Brazilian manufacturing facility (see Page 14 in the link below). The 2012 F100 is the US made 2005-2007 F250 design.

https://www.fleet.ford.com/global/pdfs/AllRegions.pdf

On Page 28, it states that Finland has 59 sales points and 79 service points for Ford vehicles.

Well, then ignore my "export" information above... ask the seller to take pics of the engine, front axle, and get the VIN for look-up.
