Alright so here's the run down. My truck has been running funny and it seemed like it was the ficm went bad again. So i called up the shop because its been less then a year. So i bring it in told the guy what its been doing, so he hooked it up to his laptop did test on everything even checked the vein's on the turbo and all, as im standing there watching him and asking questions. The only problem he found was that the charging system was putting out 13 volts and not able to throw a code yet to figure out which alternator is going bad or if both are going bad. Then one day after i figured out,, every time i turned my headlights on the truck lost all power as if the ficm wasn't getting enough volts to it. So i took out the HID's put in my old bulbs and not a problem.
How can i check which alternator is bad. Voltage wise one is putting out 13.6 and the other 13.5. (This is with my old bulbs in not the HID) and batteries are good less then a year old also.

Age doesn't necesarily mean they are good. Have them load tested seperately. My last set had a failure less than one year old. They replaced both because it's a diesel.
What do you mean switch? And forgot to mention the HID's aren't just plug and play. These had to be wired ground to ground then ran to the battery for positive and so forth
