Few items on the new truck

Ok guys, when I bought the truck last week I was completely aware of what I thought to be oil in the coolant. Oil cooler Orings, no problem. Brought it to a local shop that does a LOT of work on power strokes, and happens to be married to one of the women at work, so i know he isn't trying to screw me.

He just called and here is his opinion: the oil cooler looks fine on the outside, and from looking into the coolant, there's definitely a residue, but may be fuel and not oil. Wanted me to know that the oil cooler Orings may not infact fix anything, if the problem was fuel. He said fuel in the coolant is likely a cracked injector cup (which makes since from my knowlege).

He also said the passenger oil line was leaking where the strap had rubbed, and that he checked the ICP and there was oil in it, so he recommended changing that. Other than that, he didn't see anything else that concerned him.

How about some thoughts and opinions? I told him to go ahead with the oil cooler Orings anyway. And I'll replace the fuel line and ICP when I do my RR order soon.

Sound like injector cups to you all?

If it is fuel in the coolant then yes injector cup. I did the cups on mine and it wasn't too bad as long as the puller you get actually works. I tried 2using different ones before I ended up making my own. The ones I tried were Loaner tools and the person presenting that loans them has since fixed the problem. You just have to make sure you get the loctite on the right places and the right amount. Otherwise it is just time.

Do a smell test to see if it's fuel or oil. You can smell the fuel. I wouldn't mess with the oil cooler if it isn't leaking.

If its a high mileage truck I would do both oil cooler R&R,and inj. cups..since you know you have one or the other in your coolant,if you do one and miss there goes another 4 gallons of coolant..jmho

He's doing the oil cooler, and I'll head to the south Texas tech day for the injector cups if its still leaking into the coolant. I'll kill 10 birds with one stone that way.
