One BBL Air filter...
Mornin Gents, I am trying to find an air filter/air cleaner for my 240 I6 1 bbl carb. I have the original oil bath on it,,, however, I would like to clean that and repaint it and have something on it in the meantime, it is one of my DD. I bought the cheapo POS from Kragan,,, it didn't fit and was chromed plastic and broke, so I took it back, looked at K&N's but not sure which one would fit best, so I am askin for some help!!

Paper filter air cleaner will be found on 1968/72 F100/350 240/300 I-6, 1965/71 Galaxie/LTD 240 I-6.
Mike at Big M Automotive in Williams might have a Galaxie/LTD, but Williams is a far piece from Groveland.
I haven't scrounged in your area in decades, most of the wreckers I used to hit (Romo in Fresno), Pearson (forget where) and 3 Boys in Madera are AFAIK, oughtta business

I have been lookin too,,, Pearson's,, just up the road from me in Mariposa,, he passed on a few years ago,, his daughter is cleaning up the place (read "scrapping it!") So I have had no luck finding an original,,, so I was looking to the aftermarket,,, thought I might be able to find a K&N that would slip over the neck, or some such thing, maybe I could adapt something off of a rice-burner or something,,,

What is the diameter of the carb throat? Summitt, Jegs, and others have numerous hot rod filters for short money and with adapters to fit several sizes. 2 5/8 and 2 5/16 seem to be very common sizes. The one barrel on my 232 is 2 5/16. I realize the carb on your 240 may be different but have a look at what they have...
