Elmer the '49 F-1
#62
Finally dragged Elmer home! So, the painter was absolutely sure that the front tires would rub, so he put some random rollers on, turns out they just didn't have the suspension set up worth a darn... painters...
Stopped at the father in laws so that he could see it.
A truck on a trailer behind you isn't always a good sight, but it was here!
At the father in law's.
Got the front suspension set to ride height, the wife wants to use International Harvester White as the wheel color and a couple other things, so sprayed the wheels quick to check it out. Think she picked the right color! Also dropped the rear a bit, think Elmer is sitting about right. Though I may have to change the wheel offset out front, bring them in 1/2in.? Can "just" slide my hand between the tires and fender at full lock either way... maybe that's enough?

Hey Jonathon,
Love the truck! You have the stance just about perfect.
We had some trial & error issues with tires/wheels to get the front
to work. We scraped on tough corners & dips.
Let me know what you finally go with for tires/wheels - I may try one more combination - our tires are too skinny for me.

Another little update, ok maybe it's Big! We got the engine and trans back from the builder. A little 331ci, I think the '49-'51 bronze paint looks great. The engine got a little lean on the top end, will fatten it up a bit and should be an easy 350hp on 9.0 to 1 compression. Will be a great street motor with that torque!
