Welcome to the orphanage! I believe you have come to the right spot for any information and support you may need with your project.
Please tell us more of your plans.
Don't hesitate to ask questions, there are a lot of very knowledgable fridge junkies here.
42 years ago (age 16) when I bought my 59 F250 4X4 it would have been nice to have access to a resource like this.

Well, 57-60 Ford pickups are known as "Fridges", because of the square shape and ressemblance to old refridgerators. This forum is referred to as the "Orphanage", since the 57-60 Ford is also know as the "Forgotten Ford". when you start looking thru parts books you will note the lack of parts for these years as compared to earlier years. We are kind of all by ourselves hers and proud of it!
You gave me tears of joy when you mentioned putting the in line 6 back in your truck. So many folks want to change things up. Many of us here have learned things the hard way and are more than willing to share our expierences.

Congrat on the truck. My son and I are doing the same thing. We have 57 F100 shortbed and we're putting the 272 and 3 spd back in. The previous owner had different plans but lucky for us most of the truck is stock except for having the bellhousing mount hacked off. That problem has being taken care of (hopefully) BTW my son is 14.
