I wouldn't get excited about a deal on the BFG Rugged Trail T/A's ... they are worthless on anything but pavement.
the new Rugged Terrain's may be better, i don't know ... but the Rugged Trails on our SD are utterly worthless, IMO. can't wait till they wear out and get some decent rubber on it.

With the walnut shells (that leave little pockets with multiple grabbing edges) and the ground glass (which would act like a rough pavement surface) I imagine they would stop and hold the road very well. The more aggressive treads are studable but I guess that wouldn't apply to you were you live. Also the D rated seem to be the same price as the E rated. .............Never owned any though.

Just ordered a pair of the Treadwright Warden A/T (E) tires... Gonna put them on the front and put the two best existing tires on the rear. Next month I'll order two more for the rear. Look like good tires, and the price is fantastic! I'll post back eventually with an update on how they handle our snow/mud/ice.
