Man, the Canadian dollar trending up is really screwing you guys to the wall.
Sounds perfect, btw. You sure it's not an FX4?
Let me reassure you about the short bed. The only time I would want the 8 foot bed on that truck would be if I were loading it up with auxiliary tanks and toolboxes and still needed room left over to regularly load it up. The 6.75' bed works out great because it's a little easier to maneuver in tight spaces, doesn't hang out as far into the sidwalk/road or parking lot lanes, and with the tailgate down and the step handle up, it holds an 8x4 sheet of plywood perfectly.
I find myself wishing I had an 8' bed even less often than I find myself wishing I had a dually: only in rare/exceptional circumstances, and then only for that one time. Then I'm glad to be able to actually live with a shorter bed on a daily basis.
I know I will get used to it. I haul a lot of different things, my business, the farm etc. But I think it will be OK.
I'm kind of glad to go back to an SRW though. I don't really need the duelly and tires are expensive. Although it costs as much for 4 of these twenties as it does for 6 of the sixteens.
Ditto on the 8' bed. I just got a 2000 F250 SD CC V10 4X4 with an 8' bed and its a real beast to park. It takes up a regular parking spot and about 2.5 feet into the next without the hitch which adds a foot. Buying a good used vehicle, you really don't get to pick and choose especially when you are short on time.
