Where to buy a stock "y-pipe" for 7.3 IDI turbo ?

Hi Folks,

I've searched this forum alot and found some info, but haven't had any luck in finding where to buy a stock 'y-pipe' or cross over pipe for a 1994 f-250 7.3L IDI turbo. it is the 'U" shaped piece made out of exhaust pipe material ( not the cast part) that connects the driver side manifold to the passenger side manifold.

any help would be appreciated,

thanks,
Rick

If you still have the old one, take it to a good muffler shop. If they are worth their salt, they should be able to fab you one.

thanks FarmerT for the advice. I was hoping that one of the box stores would have one off the shelf ? I pulled the engine to replace the oil pan which had a leak, so while we have it out, why not replace the old 'y-pipe'.
I would guess ( maybe wrong) that if a box outfit had a y-pipe, that it would cheaper than having it made up at a muffler shop ?

thanks,
Rick

i doubt it.you could likely just drive right in to an exhaust shop and have on custom built and installed for what aftermarket plus shipping would be anyway.take it in for a quote and see.
bring your exhaust wrap with ya and ask them to give ya 10 mins so you can wrap it after they bend it all up to save ya a little hassle latter.toss a couple wraps on there to help turbo spool and you should be good for another handful of years.

You could try Typefour, I know he bought a lot of surplus parts from ATS when they discontinued theie IDI product line.

Good luck,

Mac.
