How many miles do you have on your 6.0?
#136
I have 777,xxx miles on my E350 van. The previous owner did a good job on keeping up with the maintenance.
I opened the fuel filter housing (lower) and the Ford OEM filter was clean!
The transmission housing looks new.
The coolant was dirty! I flushed it over 14 times with a combination of water, Restore, Amway LOC (like simple green), RO water, hose water, and distilled water.
I added 3 gallons of CAT EC1 full strength coolant and took it for a test run up 4 mile grade. EOTs delta held steady at about 8 degrees.
I am changing the oil to Rotella T6 this weekend. Has to be easier than flushing the cooling system!
Once this thing warms up, the fuel economy looks great on the scan gauge. No doubt when I calibrate the Scan Guage II it may not look as impressive. Around town when this beast is cold, it shows about 7 mpg! Give it 15 minutes to warm up and Scan Guage II doubles the mpg.
We named the van Triple Sevens (777) and feel that it has the LORD'S blessing to still be running.
