Opinions on Interior Color

I'm looking for some opinions on what to do.

The interior, including the interior of the passenger door is the original color green, I have a spray can of this color mixed up at the paint shop from when I welded up the radio hole.

The exterior is later model dark blue, specific color unknown. I don't want to get into painting the dash to match the exterior as I think it's too dark plus it's a huge amount of work. The jambs are blue.

The driver's door interior is a flat black which I want to paint.

I'm thinking about painting the interior of the driver's door the original green.

What have you guys done when the interior doesn't match the exterior as far as the door interiors, door jambs and edges of doors. I'd love to see some photos of how you addressed this.

Thanks!

Well when I got my truck the exterior was a light blue and the interior holly green which was the original color. My solution was to strip the cab down and put the truck back into holly green as original.

Dash appears to be Caribbean Turquoise. The exterior was likely painted this same color originally, or Wimbledon White or possibly tu-toned with Wimbledon White.

Warranty Plate COLOR code: B = Caribbean Turquoise / M = Wimbledon White / BM if tu-toned Caribbean Turquoise/Wimbledon White

I think that you will find that just about everyone has the interior color being the same color as the exterior. The only exception is if the exterior is white. Taking a cue from later vehicles I am looking at my exterior being 2012 blue flame and the interior being a darker shade of grey. You might want to grab a couple brochures from the Ford dealership and take a look at what color interiors are available with the exterior color that most resembles yours. I would not leave it torquoise though.

Most vehicles today, FoMoCo or not, have two interior choices: mouse fur gray and tan. Gone are the days when you could also get black, blue, red, and green interiors.

Current F150's do offer black interiors (cloth and leather-Lariats & above) along with mouse fur gray and tan. But most dealers order F150's with fugly mouse fur grey.

Blue flame is a 2012/2013 F150 exterior color. I just looked at a 2013 Blue Flame Lariat, guess what the interior color was.

New 2013 Escape available in cloth and leather (Titanium), mouse fur gray is the only interior choice. Of the 11 vehicles I've bought new in recent years, only the 2008 Fusion had a tan interior.

Very few people on this site as well as other sites complete a restoration. A lot of people have good intentions until the cost of a restoration sits in. I say it's your truck fix it up the way you want. When it comes to interior, do it your way. Afterall your the one that's going to be in it.
In other words if you like multi-colored polka-dots, bright green **** carpet and fuzzy dice, then do it. As long as your happy with it that's all that matters.

I just finished painting my truck and I have the interior the same color as the exterior. I can now tell the people who don't know that its the factory original color....ha ha I would never let anyone walk away from my truck thinking it is factory color. I say do whatever makes your toes tingle. You're the only person who has to like it.

You might want to think upholstery first...and go from there. Paint is easy...do you have a preference for the bench seat color...is it the
original one? There is a company (not sure of name but it has been talked about here) that reproduced the original seat coverings for the
benches and has the Ford emblem like the original...that's how I'd do it if I was going to do mine again. A great neutral is to go with black,
'cause then you could do anything really...

My interior is tan, the exterior is a baby blue color...I thick there are pics on my page.

smsautofabrics.com located in Canby OR / Their prices aren't cheap, so if people are related to Titus Canby, may not be interested.

My vote is always for original colours. A bonus on resale.

I live an hour away from SMS and have used them twice replacing the interior in my 65. The first time with the inserts for the bucket seats and then now for the padded dash. They are definitely not cheep but they keep working to get it right. I had to send back one batch because it was not a match and they made a run to get it exact. They are hard to get on the phone but they will get it right. I would suggest getting enough to do the whole interior so it can come in one run.

IMO its your esthetic choice, I agree on the paint match of the interior and the exterior in your case. Then leave the accent colors or trim pieces to do the fancy accents, even if its black door covers and carpet. Your milage may vary.
here's an unsolicited opinion... the 2 colors you have going on there don't really go together, but you know what they say about opinions...
