460 Fender ID Badge

Probably the wrong forum....

Can anyone remember a factory Ford ID badge that says 460 on it? I am looking for chrome fender badges like they offered for the 5.0 etc but I can't remember anything that ever had them.

I though they would be a nice touch on the sides of my Bronco

Alan, I haven't seen one that says 460 on it, but I have seen badges that display 7.5 They look just like the 5.0 ones on the Mustang.

Lightbulb 460 Fender ID Badge

I seen a set on E-Bay about a week ago. They were 460 High Performance. The numbers 460 were in red, with a chrome bar underneath with black letters, high performance. It didn't say what they came off from though.

460 Fender ID Badge

Dearborn Classics has 460 badges that are replica's of the *Thunderbird* FE390/427 badges, but with 460 in place of the 390/427. Thinking about maybe putting a set on my Dually.. assuming I don't put *CobraJet* scripts on the fenders instead...

I don't like advertising it.

I keep them guessing. At the next light it is usually
" What you got under the hood"?

I usually answer "a 5.0 L"

Then they say "Must be from out of a Mustang eh? "
Then I think of the Hemi commercial.

There are a bunch of aftermarket badges to advertise the presence of a 460.There are metal replicas of the '63-'64 390&427 "Thunderbird" badges with '460' in them, instead of the other numbers. Then there are the plastic, self-stick versions of the same emblems(I think these are better because you don't have to drill holes to mount them, plus they look better for longer than the metal versions.) Also available are self-stick "7.5" emblems, and small retangular emblems, with chrome 460 numbers on a black background. These look exactly like the 351,390,&428 small scoop emblems Ford offered in 1969.I've also seen those self-stick "460 High Performance" emblems. They look cool, too. I'm having a tough time deciding which 460 emblems to put on my 1990 Bronco's fenders when that overdue 460 project gets finished.I might just keep the aftermarket "5.0 High Performance" emblems on them. What I find odd is Ford never offered a factory 460 badge,or emblem on any car or light-duty truck so equipped.I put metal versions of the "Thunderbird" 460 emblems on my F-250......8 years before self-stick versions became available. Speaking of factory Ford badges, I found out that mid-90's medium-duty trucks had one small, retangular emblem located on the left, lower side of the grille.Trucks with the EFI429 got a "7.0L EFI" badge. Wouldn't it have been cool if Ford would've offered "7.5L EFI" badges on the light-duty pickups&vans fitted with a EFI460? Why put on on the grille, anyway????? "You're about to be passed by a 429-equipped dumptruck?" Hhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmm, very interesting.

You could always put a badge that says : "460 Smogger"
Then they shouldn't be too afraid... I still don't get how my factory '76 Supercab loaded with tools and heavy canopy still beats the new chebbies from light to light... Especially since it is rated at what, 174 hp or something stupid? And I still have the factory timing set and carb!

I've been looking for something like this. Settled for some "Powered by 460" stickers. Think I'll get a pair of the 7.5 emblems. Mounted under the F250 emblem they would look OE. I like the idea of a grille emblem also. Will have to look at that.

http://www.holcombmotorsports.com/specials.htm

Sure didn't find this site easily. The site I found that had the 460 flags listed them as NLA. I'd like to see some other links if anyone has them

Go to ebay and search "Ford emblems". I bought 7.5 emblems and self-stick 460 Thunderbird emblems from the same person. They sell all different kinds of aftermarket Ford emblems on ebay. I don't think the metal versions of the 460 Thunderbird emblems are available anymore. I saw a set out at Spring Carlilse that the vendor wanted $50 a pair for(ouch!). When I bought my emblems for my F-250 in early 1995, those same emblems were $19.95 each. I think a pair of the self-stick versions go for about $29.95,maybe a bit lower. Check on ebay. Hope this helps.
