can i still buy interior stuff like carpet and trim pieces through ford or is a place like lmc my only option? i'd rather not buy from lmc because i've heard they just buy parts from the cheapest supplier. i've looked at bronco graveyard and they dont have much for interior and dennis carpenter is super expensive
When I was building my truck, I visited junkyards on a regular basis. If your patient you can find some genuine Ford factory parts in great shape. As of right now I just need to find a set of nice door panels and my interior revamp will be completed with all of $100 into it.
Some items you can still get at dealerships. LMC is a decent source but I would check Dennis Carpenter as they are licensed by ford and his door panels for example are made on the same molds that ford used while LMC is selling junk that was cast from worn out used door panels and it shows. Dennis Carpenter door panels for example are also cheaper than LMCs. Another option is NPD. They used to have quite a bit of the hard to find trim pieces for the dash for our trucks but seems like the stock has ran out on them but they still sell a bunch of good stuff.
hard to find items your best bet is to get the OE part number and do a ebay search then click save search then you will get notified when an item is listed. It took me literally 3 months before someone finally posted for sale a NOS driverside seat belt assembly. Im still waiting for someone to list the center and right seat belt assemblies.
