i bought a 59 f 100 with a 302 from a torino in it and c6. the motor mounts it currently has a bolt going across the mount. i am replacing that engine with a 1978 f100 302 that is rebuilt for know until i rebuilt the 71 block. but the motor mounts for 78 have a bolt going down into the frame mount.

my question can a use a 71 motor mount on a 78 302 block?

Same engine supports aka towers, stands, perches.

1969/79 F100 302 / 1975/79 F150 302 / 1977/79 F100/350 351M/400 2WD.

Passenger Car engine supports are not the same as F100/350 supports, regardless of what the engine size is, or what the year is.

 

the towers on the truck were fabricated to accept the motor mounts with
the bolt going across it like this

could i use this on the 1978 302

 

You should be able to. I think the small blocks all have the same spacing on the bosses cast into the blocks.
