these guys are fairly local to me and i know enough not to bother looking at anything theyve got. they always have listings like this on ebay and craigslist.

 

Never mind the price (if you can), Id be embarassed to drive it till I did somthing about that signage.

 

This guys gonna check his listing tomorrow and crap his pants because 300 people have viewed his page. Haha I wished I lived in Iowa, I would buy it.....

 

And then take it to the scrap yard

 

It's just got to be the Hemi.

 

I don't think it's even worth the current bid of $2200!!

 

What gets me is gas nozzle holes on the passenger side like it once had the tank behind the seat. Or am I blind? Are those F1 fenders? Nah I just dont like "Rat Rods".

The engine does look clean though.

 

I feel embarrassed for that truck.

 

It does have the correct "Patina" for the period.

 

I couldn't help myself. I believe there are several more good acronyms for IOWA but that was the only one I could remember.

It's not "Rat Rods" I don't like, there are a few nice ones out there. It's the idea of using the term 'Rat Rod" to justify bad work. Have you noticed every piece of junk on eBay is a "Rat Rod"? It's the most overused term on eBay.

The second most overused term is Flathead. Type in "Ford Flathead" and you get over 3,000 hits. Unfortunately, half have nothing to do with engines. "Flathead" bumper guards, "Flathead" headlight buckets, "Flathead" lug nuts, "Flathead" etc..

"Flathead" cigarette lighter elements? Give me a "Flathead" break.

(I know, I know, they use these keywords to maximize hits. It just ticks me off to have to filter through the crap to find good parts.)

 

I asked the seller what awards the truck has won and this was his reply
"It won Best P.O.S , and Most unlikely to get stolen. . It's a Rat Rod. The worse it looks, the better. Not my style, but seem people love them."

Nice, I REALLY want a truck that has won "Best P.O.S."!! That accolade alone has to add at least $15K to any price tag...

 

most likely to get stolen?? why, because the windows busted out and makes it easier to get in?
