I pulled the steering wheel on my 1966 F100 and found a loose ball bearing the size of a bb laying in the column. What does it go to?

 

Check the upper bearing just under the turn signal switch to make sure it isn't from there. Another possible source is the switch itself.

 

I rebuilt the turn signal cam and didn't see anywhere it would fit in there. The turn signals now work great so I'll check the bearing.

The steering column bearing(s) can be either at the top, bottom, or both locations.

C3DZ3517A can be upper and lower bearing; unless, 4wd/then upper only.

The bearings use sleeves.

B1AZ3518A used with C3DZ3517A.

C6TZ3518A: lower only (obsolete)
