Looking in Charlotte area for 16.5 inch rims

Have an 85 f250 and am looking for 16.5 8 lug rims. Was wondering if anyone in the Charlotte, NC area knew where I could find some or maybe have some for sale. Thanks.

16.5 inch rims were not offered after 1982 according to my source.

Not quite sure why you would want a 16.5 tire anymore. Hard to find, and most of them are OLD and ready for the recycler anyway. Tire over 5 years old should be replace no matter how much tread is left

16.5" Hummer tires are still available new surplus, that is probably the reason behind the interest

That is too bad I just scrapped 3 sets of them.
Those Military tires are JUNK. I would get stuck in my flat yard with them(in 4wd). Dismounted the tires(threw in trash) and scrapped the wheels.
I now have a 3/4 worn out set of Micky Thompson MTZs that I have yet to need to use 4wd.

There is a reason they are so cheap, they SUCK

They are not as bad as people make them out to be. They are very quiet, smooth riding, crazy cheap and do well out on the trails as long as they are pretty dry. They are really terrible in the goo though, so if your plan is to play in the mud I would keep looking.

I'm getting them for a second set to throw on so I can use the truck as my bug out vehicle. (worried about what may happen as a result of the upcoming election) And so I can have an entire set of 4 for spares.

After using them for years as a grunt in North Carolina before going to flight school I would have to agree and disagree. Yes they are fairly quite for the size and rubber, ride smooth if you get the radial version and not the bias, and can be cheap to get some places.

Now to say about mudding in them. Now bias were better in the NC Clay/mud/sand but I never got stuck in some deep mud there, desert sand, or climbing rocks in Death Valley with the radials. Yes there are far better mud tires but for a universal terrain tire they are good. You got to figure the military wanted cheap but a tire that would function in any terrain a conflict or training happened.

Now if you can get the beadlock split type run flat wheels for cheap your golden. Well if they are not bent up. They were heavy steel and I don't know anymore but years ago one of the only dot stamped street legal true beadlocks. Just if it comes with the magnesium run flat in it I'd take that out as it made those tires extremely heavy, and if its for a bug out vehicle I don't think the zombie appocolyptic hordes will be shooting the rubber out and you could only go like 20mph with them flat in the sand anyway. The military gets them complete and balanced but most of the money for the setup is that wheel so if you can get those for cheap I would. No hard feeling about the zombies I hope
