Advanced Adapters - 78 f150

Hi All,

Back in 99' I converted my truck from a 460 with a C6 over to 460 with a New Venture 4500. I hate the clutch. It is brutal to press down. just curious if anyone else had made this conversion. I guess I am sick of it and want to switch back to a C6.

Curious what people think out there?

Thanks!

Chris

Is it a hydraulic clutch, or?

Not much help but I'm swapping from a C6 to a 5-speed of some sort, so I have a good used trans if you're looking.

nope...old school manual clutch. I think I would enjoy it alot more if it were lighter and smoother.

No one out there has done the NV4500 conversion??!! I am shocked.

Not sure how much help this will be on your setup but it sure made a difference on mine.

If you look at your linkage you should have a vertical rod that has a 90 degree bend on each end ( pedal lever rod ). My rod was worn bad and it also wallowed out the holes they went in. I made a new rod but instead of the 90 degree bends I used heim joints.

I can't say how much of an improvement, if any, it would be over new parts but it made a big difference over my wore our parts.

Talking

my clutch is so stiff I have broken two of the clutch rods...the 90 degree bend part actually broke off and the rod was just hanging there! I know all about that rod. We had it out that day. I took it off and whipped it at someones head. Just kidding about that part.
