Window regulators and alignment woes

Soo... I did the drivers side anti-rattle parts on my 78 F150 2wd today and will be doing the passenger side soon. It went ok and between that and the new striker bolts I put on awhile ago the doors are starting to have a nice solid feel and sound to them again. What I need to know is can the window be adjusted so it closes tight on the top fore corner? I have to push forward on the window now while rolling it up to get it tight in the channel strip. And I would imaging the roller on the regulator arm is supposed to roll freely in the channel on the bottom of the door glass ha? Mine do not. And is there supposed to be springs behind the window cranks? And what purpose do they have..? That should be enough for now lol! Thanks!
