Ecoboost Emblem

My Ecoboost emblems on the sides are starting to discolor for some strange reason. I keep my truck clean and waxed so I don't feel it's due to neglect. Is anyone else having this problem? I would like to ask the dealer to replace them with new ones but am concerned about how they would remove them...don't want any damage to the paint etc. Can anyone tell me if this would be "easy" for the dealer to do without causing issues? Thoughts?

never done it, but i hear a heat gun and fishing line works great.

get the emblem good and warm with a heat gun (3 hands work best) then start pulling the fishing line between the emblem and the vehicle.

then get some 3m adhesive remover and it's gone .... then you have to decide if you want a sleeper or not

good luck!

You can follow this video on how to de-badge your vehicle. Me border is exactly right..at least this will show you how to do it. I would be upset to see the emblem fading so quickly and would surely talk to the dealer about them replacing it first. Good luck!

Both of my badges are showing some wear. I like the idea of debadging.

I wonder why they're fading so quick....anyone with a 2012 have the same issue? Next time I'm in for an oil change I'll have them take a look and change them out.

I think it sucks that they would fade so quickly!! I will definitely be using a paint sealant on mine when I get the truck.

I removed my Ecoboost badges as soon as I got my new truck home from the dealership.

Someone on here has an ecoboot truck, I think it's a 2011 FX2 and it has decals on the sides of the hood that says 3.5L twin turbo. I thought that looked cool as hell. I'd rather have that then the badges.

Then again, I could remove the badges and have ecoboost airbrushed on it their places.

I like this decal a lot. Unfortunately, my bride likes the truck to stay plain.

Use some fishing line and run it back and forth behind the emblem. Then when it's off just rub the rest of the sticky stuff off. Some GOO Gone will help the residue left behind too.

It is but hey, she's the boss. And it's good to make her think she's handling things too.
