Good News....

Just got back from a 5 day camping trip. There was 4 other 6.7's at the State Park. Spoke to them all in the course of our stay. All had nothing but good things to say, with nothing more that minor items that thier dealer responded to.

We stay at Travis AFB FamCamp from June to September. I've talked to a bunch of 6.7 owners in that time. So far everyone I've talked to is quite happy with nothing reported other than some reflashes. I've talked to several 6.4 owners and they were pretty happy except with mileage figures. When I told them my towing mileages all of them were obviously envious.

What is the likely hood that these minor items will reoccur or continue on down the road?

Ya, that's what worries me!
I really like the ford and em pretty sure it will see better MPG then the cummins, just have this question in the back of my mind asking how long will it all last?
I want a new truck now but i just can't decide!

I've got a buddy in Indianapolis who has always driven Fords, he ordered a new Dodge this year. Said he didn't want anything to do with the DEF and such, and 2012 is the last year for no DEF on the Dodges.
He got a 1 ton dually loaded out the ying yang, 410 gears, and the 800 horse option on the motor. Said he's getting 17 empty. He tows a 18K 5th wheel. Haven't heard how he did on his trip this summer. The only thing he doesn't like is the big "3" on the vin number.

Just about everyone I talk to on and off the forums love the NEW ford, and have very little if any complaints. They really are a nice truck! I just wonder how people that bought the fords are able to over look the question of long*life and reliability.
I have more faith and trust in the cummins once fully deleted then I do in the new power stroke. I don't trust dodges trans though, but that's a lot cheaper then a new motor and such.

We all wonder what the long term will be on these. Most of us won't really know for a couple more years. Until a significant number of trucks hit 200,000 or so miles and we can see what common problems pop up and what the average mileage is for the common failures. I'm a little nervous about being one of those out front adding up the miles a little faster than the masses behind me. But happy there are a few putting more miles on than I, that can give me an idea of whats to come

When the 6.0L came out, None of us knew that the FCIM, HPOP and EGR coolers would be common problems around 100,000 miles. We drove and enjoyed the trucks and dealt with the issues as they arose. Over the next year or two, We will learn where the weak points are in this engine as more owners start to cross into the high mileage and approach the designed life expectancy.

So far at 75,000 miles this has been my best Ford truck.

I am really excited to hear that everyone is having nothing but good things to say about the 6.7. I'm picking up our ordered truck tomorrow. The dealer called today as it was coming off the truck.
