SandhillMike - RIP !

Guys,
I know he posted here, enjoyed the members and wanted me to say goodbye for him. He has been battling cancer for 3 years and lost that fight on Sept 1st. He was a great guy (my neighbor and car-buddy for 15 yrs). He was gracious enough to leave me his projects, including his '60 F-100. He didn't have much strength to work on it for some time, but it will get some attention soon. I told Mike that even though the truck will be in my name, it is still "Mike's truck" and I will put it back together the way he planned. I will be reading his past posts and begin posting my own on here soon. I'm still trying to sort things out over there.

49tandc; Welcome to the FTE fridge forum. So sorry to hear of your friend Mikes passing. I'm certain you will find the site helpful with your work on Mike's truck. When you search Mike's past posts be sure to include the whole site or a least the 48-56 and the 57-60 sections,as the two have been separated since Mike's posts.
Good luck in your quest

Thanks,
Mike was a great guy, with an interesting background. He was a brown-water sailor in VietNam supporting SEALS and Riverines. Worked for the National Park Service. worked for DCF, making sure elderly got what they needed. It is still disconcerting, we share a driveway, and when I go by his turnoff, there are no tiretracks - sad. I'm still sorting through boxes of stuff. Mike knew he was terminal a few months ago. We (Mike, the executor of his estate & myself) sat outside going over some details. I asked the executor if he "wanted any of these?" (Mikes projects). I didn't want anyone to think I was looting Mike. He said "no, this all looks like work!" Mike chuckled and told me that the executor has zero mechanical ability/desire. Besides himself, he said I was the only one that knew that part goes with this truck; this part goes to that Jeep, etc...

I'm wrestling on how to fit these into my place & prioritize with my ongoing projects. Lots to organize and store somewhere. Some 'past the point of no return' - to go to the junkyard & clean up Mike's compound.
