Seat Easy Entry/Exit Malfunction

So today after a quick trip out, I unlock the doors to get in the 2007 Expedition EB EL. As I am sitting in the drivers seat and put the key in the ignition and turn, the seat proceeds to return to what I thought was my seat memory position. I was wrong.

The seat went as far forward as possible. I lost my seat memory function and the easy entry/exit does not work either. I have the option selected as "on" through the easy entry setup menu. The seat controls all work accept the easy entry option. Fuses look to be okay as well.

As anyone had this similar problem, and if so what was the fix?

Thanks

I had a similar thing happen to me. I was cleaning the Expy one day and moved the seat all the way forward and before I released the button the seat stopped and then then moved again like a fraction of an inch. Well I think it somehow resets the memory positions because mine were lost after that. Since then I've reset everything and it's been fine. I know if you move the seat all the way back it resets the "easy entry" setting to allow more travel when key is removed so maybe going forward resets everything.

seat entry exit malfunction

I had a similar problem with my 05 previous EB expy. What I found was that if I started the vehicle while the seat was in motion it would often find a 'new' position and sometimes remember it. So I always waited for the seat to stop before starting. Now the other side of that is I found out the battery was going bad and battery voltage was low.. Don't know if that helps but it is what it was..

Thanks for the info forum. I am still puzzled as to what has happened. I will have to try a few things tomorrow with the expy. I will let you know what I come up with.

I found a section in the owners manual that explains a seat reset. Although it doesn't make sense to me yet. I will read it several more times and try a reset.
