very nice rig ...awwsome paint ...yah just a little envy...I gotta get to work on my "little" F-350 ...I usta think I had a big truck ...that is very sweet !!

 

I only dreamed of having a service truck like that back in the day. The ones I had where new early and mid 80's. But just had very little cool factor back then.

 

Ok fellas. This thread is 10 years old. Hope someone reads this. I have a 1953 Ford f750 4x4. Dump. Its a rust free truck. I am starting the resto for a customer. He wants an air break conversion on this is we a swapping in a diesel engine for him. Can anyone even tell me where to start looking for this?

As a guess if the person wants air brakes the easy way would be to swap axles from a modern truck that had them.
Down here is NC I see a lot of larger 4x4 trucks that are used on farms and power lines and I am sure they run diesels & air brakes.
Maybe best to buy a full large 4x4 truck and move its drive train / motor over to what you have.
