The code on my VIN sticker is 15.

The tag on the differential says
S V 5320
31 975 6K23 0

I took a pic of it, but not sure how to attach it to the thread.

I have a 2007 Limited 2wd with the HD towing package and can't seem to find code 15 in the net.

The 31 shows 3.73 open differential, according to this: What rear end ratio is in my Ford , do I have positraction? - Drivetrain.com
But there's no 15 on that page, that's why I'm curious.

 

Did you try punching your VIN into this site? It will give you the window sticker and all options.

What does your diff tag say?

 

Code 15 on 2007 and up Expeditions is 3:31 gears.

All non-EL's came stock with 3:31's ( 3:73's were an option )

All EL Expys come stock with 3:73 ( no options available )

*** This does not include SSV Expys ( Police Pkg ) as they had different options***

Srsly? Lol! I posted that as the second thing in my first post.

Thx! It is non-EL, so I'll assume it's the 3.31 rear end. How can you decipher the differential tag?

 

I get a 404 error, like their site is jacked. I tried my mustang Vin, too, same error.

 

Unless someone swapped out the gears I would say with 100% accuracy that you have 3:31's. My Expy has code 15 too and I have 3:31's and HD tow pkg.


As for deciphering the tag ??? Don't know ??? Sorry.

I wonder if the 31 is the .31 of 3.31, but merely a guess.

After the " = " add your VIN. Note this may not work for 2007 and older as I think it only goes back 5 years and we are on MY 2013 vehicles but worth a shot.

You're probably right, I get an XML error for invalid VIN.
