ok guys, lookin to get another IDI to haul with. these are two new options. whatcha think?

1992 f350 lariat with banks and e4od

1988 f450 n/a zf5

love the thought of a 450 with 4 wheel disc already, hydroboost already and a 5spd. but the extra space of the 350 would be nice and much needed.

Price difference? im with you id like to have the F-super duty for the fact of already having the hydroboost and all disc... Whats more important to you first hand though? The extra room or the upgrades?

I like both lol. Lookin at 800 to upgrade the brakes on the 350, 800 for the turbo upgrade on the superduty. Coil front 350, leaf SD. So same dollar to buy, same dollar to upgrade. Smoother ride 350, more space 350, heavier weight capacity SD dual 40 gallon saddle tanks SD

wow sounds like a 6 in one hand and half a dozen in the other. Talk about a tough one! Id pry do the SD for the fuel tanks and weight capacity. As for the turbo buy a turbo (any with good specs) and make your own kit. Iirc youre a good fab man!

If your planning on using it for what they were made for...towing...I would get the F450. Will have a bigger GCW rating than the F350

Plus can you imagine trying to park that F350...PITA

Welcome back bruddah! I kinda partial to the bull nose myself, and I definitely like the dash and interior more. It seems that the 450 has a bigger sleeper cab though, and I know that you would use that on some of your long halls. Tough call, My 93 might be up for sale soon, you could just fab your own! LOL

Mac.

Depending on what my neighbors 450 goes for I may. The 350 would be a bed in the sleeper, swivel reclining captain chairs like a motorhome with a table for each behind them, fridge on one side, tv on the other. I usually take my girl with me and were trying to have a baby so the extra space would be good. Id be willing to make the 350 a short bed and extend onto the sleeper

Na, just sold the idi and been super busy. Bought a house so I totally gutted it to the studs, moved every wall and door, plumbing, windows and electeical. Nothing but the 4 outside walls is the same. Then like a man man I took on a frame off restoration of a 57 bel air convertible. That is draining any remaining free time. Im assuming both are mechanically fine minus the i.p. and injectors along with the gp's and vacuum pump. All the usual stuff.

I would be limited to a 3 car haul because of how long it is. I'm class A driver so weight isnt an issue, 20k loaded trailer average. And ya, the new owner is on this site.

You can always upgrade the 350 with zf hydro disc breaks etc. but the red 450 can't really be changed to a bigger cab so seems like the 350 is the way to get what you REALLY want even if the 450 has those upgrades already... I'd go with the 350 and upgrade it.
