I'm looking for a second truck to drive in the winter ext and i want a reg cab 2wd but i want the 5.4? Ive been searching and the only trucks that i find that are short bed with the 5.4 is the Lighting? Ford didn't sell any with the normal 5.4?

 

if not how is the 4.6 in these trucks? What should i look for a 99 or newer truck? What gears etx would be best for just driving to work and picking up my daughter on the weekends? its about a 65 mile trip to get her and back??

 

I'm pretty sure they made a reg cab short bed with 5.4 not just a lightning. A 4.6 should be pretty good in a light truck like that. Gears probally 3.55 most are 3.55 geared i think.

 

MY reg. cab LB 5.4L 4wd is rather rare, not sure I have ever seen another in person, especially in XLT trim. Don't think I have ever seen a SB with a 5.4L. 3.55 or 3.73's would work fine. Nice thing with a 4.6L is you can get a manual tranny.

 

Ive been looking for a few months and i haven't seen any short beds with the 5.4. I also would much rather have a manual trans but i haven't found one of them either. But then again i live in NJ and most people who live here now are yuppies so its looks like I'm not gonna find a REAL truck like what i want....

They never made a F150 with a 5.4L and a manual that I know for sure. So if you are looking for that they don't exist.
