Lift and shocks question?

Lift and shocks question?
Im soon buying a 6 inch lift for my truck and was wondering if i have to have a special type of shock for when its lifted or i can run the same shock absorbers im currently running. Eventually when they get bad i will buy the skyjacker shocks, but can i run the same shocks when its lifted?

You will need new shocks for a 6 inch lift, the stock shock length is too short, which would either extend the shock beyond its reach (max extend length), or very close to it. Also, the valving of the shock would likely be incorrect for the new ride height.
I did the opposite with my van and lowered it 2 inches with the stock shock size (KYB), and the ride was horrible. Changed over to Koni shocks which can handle the lowered ride, and the ride is now excellent.
