I own a 97 F150 Lairet 4.6 2wd 130k miles. Love the truck have a a few problems but nothing out of the normal expected wear and tear. So I decied that if I found one in as good as shape I as mine I would buy it. I found one that is a year newer identical to mine but a four wheel drive. truck has 74k on it. my question is what should I look out for on the 4X4. Little checks I might want do do befor I buy it.

I would check the front axle boots and make sure they are not torn. If they are, you'll know by the grease they are puking out. If those are ok, run it through 4X4 in high and low and make sure it is engaging the front axle. Other than, that I would'nt worry about it.
